    2020, 30(1): 1-6.  DOI: 10.16046/j.cnki.issn2096-5680.2020.01.001
    Abstract ( )   PDF (663KB) ( )
The geotechnical parameters have regional characteristics and it is of great practical value to study the correlation of physical and mechanical parameters.Based on the statistical analysis of physical and mechanical indexes of 95groups of silty soft soil in Wuchang area of northeast China. The following conclusions and suggestions are obtained.First, the silty soft soil has the characteristics of high water content, high compressibility, large pore ratio and low strength, but the range of physical and mechanical parameters is large, the coefficient of variation is high, and the average shear strength is slightly higher than the coastal silty soft soil.Second, natural density, dry density and natural water content are highly correlated logarithm.Third, natural moisture content, liquid limit and plastic limit are highly correlated with plastic index, liquid limit and plastic limit.Fourth, the pore ratio is highly correlated with natural moisture content, natural density and dry density, with linear and exponential relationships respectively, and has a significant logarithmic relationship with particle specific gravity.Fifth, compression modulus and compressibility are highly correlated with natural water content, natural density, dry density and pore ratio, which shows that these parameters have great influence on soil deformation. It was moderately correlated with particle specific gravity, but not with liquid index and saturation. However, there was no correlation between the shear strength parameters and the physical properties. Some valuable empirical formulas are obtained by fitting to provide reference and basis for parameter selection of silty soft soil in engineering design of Wuchang area.

Displacement Analysis of Caisson-piles Composite Foundations
ZHANG Kai, LIU Xu-kai, ZHOU Yan, GUAN Qing-hai, LI Zi-lin
    2020, 30(1): 7-13.  DOI: 10.16046/j.cnki.issn2096-5680.2020.01.002
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1101KB) ( )
According to the ratio of load distribution between pile foundation and caisson, the main and secondary stressed members are determined, and the simplified calculation model of caisson-piles composite foundation is established.Based on the mechanics balance condition of foundations, the calculation formula for caisson-piles composite foundation is derived. The strength failure limit state of the caisson-piles composite foundation is discussed. The influence of the soil creep effect to the composite foundation is analyzed.Based on the engineering examples, the different displacement of the foundation for the caisson and caisson-piles foundation are analyzed and compared. The results show that the horizontal displacement of the foundation can be reduced by about 20~30%and the rotation angle of the box can be reduced by about 35~45%compared with the caisson foundation. The soil properties behind the caisson-piles foundation significantly affect the displacement of the foundation. The soil in the back of the caisson gradually improves from the flow plastic state to the hard state, the horizontal displacement at the top of the foundation will be reduced by 50~70%,and the box angle will be reduced by 20~50%.The distribution relationship of the horizontal load for the caisson-piles composite foundation is related to the stiffness of the soil in the back of the caisson and the stiffness ratio of the pile foundation. The load shared by the back soil of the caisson increases with the increase of the stiffness of the back soil.Compared with the caisson foundation, the caisson-piles composite foundation can reduce the deformation of the foundation, but there is still a problem of insufficient bearing capacity of the soil behind the caisson, reinforcement measures should be taken to improve the performance of the soil and raise the bearing capacity of the soil, also further reduce the long-term and short-term deformation of the foundation.

    2020, 30(1): 14-18.  DOI: 10.16046/j.cnki.issn2096-5680.2020.01.003
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1920KB) ( )
Considering the surface irregularity of the soil,a 2Dlinear dynamic model of roller-soil system was established for the vibratory roller and well-compacted soil. The response of the frame and the drum was analyzed, and the influence of some parameters on the dynamic behavior of the roller is discussed based on parameters of a certain roller. The research shows that in order to provide high compaction force while ensuring operation comfort, the frequency of the excitation force should be close to the second-order natural frequency of the roller.Under certain conditions, the excitation of the soil surface could play a significant role for the system response, therefore the frequency of the surface excitation should be controlled within a reasonable range. For smooth operating conditions where the drum is in contact with the soil, the effect of surface excitation on the dynamic behavior of the roller can be ignored.

    2020, 30(1): 19-23.  DOI: 10.16046/j.cnki.issn2096-5680.2020.01.004
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1131KB) ( )
In view of the characteristics of the soft soil foundation in the coastal area, which is soft in the upper part and hard in the lower part, this paper improves the traditional carrier pile technology to realize the purpose of completing the construction of large bearing capacity pile in the saturated soft soil foundation, and to solve the difficulties of pile feeding and pile forming when sending the large diameter and long length of prestressed concrete pipe pile, square pile and bamboo pile to pass through the relatively dense silt or silty sand layer. The length and bearing capacity of the pile are quite different, which cannot meet the design requirements.Through the field test of a specific project,a comparative study is carried out to achieve the expected effect of controllable pile formation, shortened pile length and meeting the requirements of large bearing capacity, which can provide certain technical guidance.

    2020, 30(1): 24-29.  DOI: 10.16046/j.cnki.issn2096-5680.2020.01.005
    Abstract ( )   PDF (3421KB) ( )
In August 2010,Sichuan Province was hit by heavy rainstorms, and a large number of landslides formed under the action of heavy rainfall, among which was Guanyintan landslide. The landslide has been continuously deformed since the formation, posing agreat threat to the life and property safety of the people living at the toe of slope.Through engineering geological survey,it is found that the square of the landslide body is 81,000m3,which is a small bedding landslide. The plane shape of the landslide body is tongue-shaped.The surface of the landslide is obviously deformed.Seven broken line cracks were developed at the trailing edge, side wall and middle and rear parts of the landslide. In the natural, heavy rain and earthquake conditions, the typical section is selected to establish the calculation model. The stability of the landslide is calculated by SLOPE/W software. The results show that the safety factors of the landslide in natural and seismic conditions are 1.541and 1.072,respectively.Both are in stable states.Under heavy rain conditions, the safety factor of the landslide is 1.019,which is in an unstable state.Combined with process geological survey and stability calculation and analysis, the formation process of Guanyintan landslide can be summarized that air condition generated by slope excavation, together with agricultural production, which intensifies deformation, eventually lead to slope instability under the rainfall. Its geomechanical  mode is sliding and fracturing.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (221KB) ( )
According to test piles measured data of vertical static load test of a certain power plant in Bangladesh,Chinese,American and Indian standards are adopted to respectively determine the ultimate bearing capacity of pile foundation with comparative analysis. The results of research show that the value of vertical ultimate bearing capacity of pile foundation determined according to Davidson’s standard is about 85%of that determined by Chinese standard;the value of vertical ultimate bearing capacity of pile foundation determined according to Indian standard is about 105%~110%of that determined by Chinese standard. It is recommended that the vertical ultimate bearing capacity value of pile foundation should not exceed the value determined by Chinese standard in similar geological conditions,so as to achieve safe, applicable and economic effects. The determination results of horizontal ultimate bearing capacity of a single pile are consistent with American and Chinese standards;the allowable value of horizontal bearing capacity of pile foundation determined according to Indian standard is about 107%of that determined by Chinese standard. It is recommended that the horizontal ultimate bearing capacity value of pile foundation should not exceed the value determined by American and Chinese standards in similar geological conditions.
