According to the ratio of load distribution between pile foundation and caisson, the main and secondary stressed members are determined, and the simplified calculation model of caisson-piles composite foundation is established.Based on the mechanics balance condition of foundations, the calculation formula for caisson-piles composite foundation is derived. The strength failure limit state of the caisson-piles composite foundation is discussed. The influence of the soil creep effect to the composite foundation is analyzed.Based on the engineering examples, the different displacement of the foundation for the caisson and caisson-piles foundation are analyzed and compared. The results show that the horizontal displacement of the foundation can be reduced by about 20~30%and the rotation angle of the box can be reduced by about 35~45%compared with the caisson foundation. The soil properties behind the caisson-piles foundation significantly affect the displacement of the foundation. The soil in the back of the caisson gradually improves from the flow plastic state to the hard state, the horizontal displacement at the top of the foundation will be reduced by 50~70%,and the box angle will be reduced by 20~50%.The distribution relationship of the horizontal load for the caisson-piles composite foundation is related to the stiffness of the soil in the back of the caisson and the stiffness ratio of the pile foundation. The load shared by the back soil of the caisson increases with the increase of the stiffness of the back soil.Compared with the caisson foundation, the caisson-piles composite foundation can reduce the deformation of the foundation, but there is still a problem of insufficient bearing capacity of the soil behind the caisson, reinforcement measures should be taken to improve the performance of the soil and raise the bearing capacity of the soil, also further reduce the long-term and short-term deformation of the foundation.
